The author, a professional photographer, gathered many photos from 1855 to 1920 that chronicled the growth and change surrounding the river. Contemporary newspaper accounts accompany the photos providing an in-depth study of the area, as experienced by those who lived there. GOOD jacket on a VERY GOOD book. Minor to moderate toning to the jacket, with light soiling, staining and foxing. Some scuffing. Several tears along the extremities and hinges, with a few chips and minor loss, and resulting in some creasing. Hint of fading and edgewear to the book. Small owner's address label and large gift inscription, in ink, on the first endpaper. Very Good/Good.

The early bound volumes preserve some of the original wraps issued with the reports. Included in the various reports are school committee reports, reports of receipts and expenditures, reports of the free library, etc. Birth and marriage records are found in the years 1887 to 1934, with record of deaths present in the years 1891 to 1934. A photo of the Milford town hall precedes the 1887 report. All in about VERY GOOD condition with varying amounts of mostly minor scuffing, minor soiling and uneven fading. Spines rather faded on several volumes. Very minor scattered soiling and foxing throughout the volumes, with the earlier issues seeing slightly more wear. Previous owner's signature, Harry A.
